Should I Talk To An Insurance Adjuster?

You should probably talk to a lawyer first, especially if there's a dispute about who is at fault.  Always keep this in mind:

INSURANCE ADJUSTERS ARE LOOKING FOR REASONS NOT TO PAY YOU!  That's their job!

They might ask what seems like an innocent question at the time, but later try to use your answer to avoid payment.  For example, let's say you're injured while driving a friend's car.  The adjuster asks if your friend had permitted you to drive that car on prior occasions, and you say "yes".  You may have just opened the door for the insurance company to deny coverage under the "regular use" exception found in the small print of most auto policies.

It doesn't matter whether an adjuster is from YOUR  insurance company or the other guy's -- he's NOT on YOUR SIDE when it comes to paying out his company's money.  REMEMBER, HE KNOWS what the fine print in the policy says ... AND YOU DON'T!
