What If The Other Driver Doesn't Have Enough Insurance?

You may be able to collect additional money from the uninsured/underinsured provisions of your OWN insurance policy.  This is true even if you were a pedestrian or a passenger in someone else's car.

In some circumstances, you can also collect underinsured motorist coverage from auto policies that you and other members of your family own, even if those cars were not involved in the accident.

AND IN SOME CASES, YOU MIGHT EVEN BE ABLE TO MAKE A CLAIM UNDER INSURANCE POLICIES ISSUED TO YOUR EMPLOYER!

Insurance laws are complicated, so be sure to check with a lawyer who has experience in this area.  There are many possible sources of recovery, and they must all be investigated thoroughly.

(And by the way, NEVER, EVER let your insurance agent talk you into reducing the uninsured motorists coverage of your own auto policy just to save a few bucks.  IT IS ONE OF THE WORST MISTAKES YOU CAN MAKE!)
